Source policy

Useful enough to act on. Honest enough to question.

Puja information changes quickly. Aaj Pujo puts the status, source and checked date beside the fact—so you can decide whether it is current enough for tonight.

The source labels you will see

Tier A

Official

Government notices, Kolkata Police, Metro Railway, organisers and pass providers.

Tier B

Published

Established reporting used for discoverability, then checked against a primary source where possible.

Tier C

Discovery record

A useful public directory or community-map listing. We show it for coverage while clearly limiting the claim.

Not published

A changing 2026 detail we have looked for but will not infer from a previous year.

How discovery filters work

Award-recognised means the committee appears in the Government of West Bengal’s 2025 Biswa Bangla results. Popular landmark means a widely planned, high-demand stop. Neighbourhood discovery widens the list beyond the usual names. These are navigation aids, never low/medium/high quality judgements.

What we maintain ourselves

  • • The pandal directory, aliases, zones, map pins and known transit
  • • Direct links to every published source and the date checked
  • • Route logic, walking approximations and planning buffers
  • • Official pass fields only after the 2026 provider list appears

What we refuse to pretend

  • • “Live crowd” without reliable live data
  • • Exact queue time presented as a fact
  • • Accessibility claims before routes and entrances are published
  • • Last year’s pass coverage labelled as 2026

A current example
